Your warranty is now void. I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

Back to the patch

This patch fixes Mercury Messenger while the team works on a revised version of the former program since it connects to an obsolete server

How does it work?

It edits your hosts file to add the IP of the current server and maps it to the old server's hostname internally, making it so you are able to use the program normally

How to install?

Download the patch from github on https://github.com/LeahVictoriaIsMyName/MercuryPatcher/releases/tag/Atl

Install it through Magisk (no idea if it works on other root apps)

Profit

First I want to say: that's really cool, excellent work.

Second I'd like to add: I looked at your patch, and obviously your explanation of how it works here. I actually wasn't aware that the host was the specific issue causing the problem in question. I was under the impression that there was some other MSNP protocol issue going on, as I don't have any easy way to mess around with that specific client.

tl;dr:

m1.escargot.log1p.xyz now properly points to the correct IP address and should start resolving soon.

If there's any other hosts or other issues your patcher handles, please let us know, we'll try to get it sorted.
